Bullying 

For this week’s blog, I am going to touch on bullying.  Bullying was definitely childish and inappropriate to do in high school so to still be bullying people in college does not make sense at all.  People need to realize that bullying others is wrong.  Bullying others can cause serious damage, not everybody is emotional stable to take all the harsh criticism that comes along with bullying.  For example, recently a college freshman named Tyler Clementi committed suicide because he was being bullied for being gay.  Tyler was only 18 years old and had recently become a freshman at Flager College in St. Augustine, Florida.   Authorities said he committed suicide after two of his classmates recorded him having sex in his dorm was another gay and broadcast it over the internet.  The embarrassment of the video being out was obviously too much for him to face.  This is why people should really consider others feelings before they say or physically do something to somebody that will be hurtful to them.  This is what we see in this case the boys did not verbally bullying Tyler but they did post the video they recorded of him on the internet which led him to throw himself off a bridge.  It is surprising to see things like this still happen in college, where kids are suppose to mature.  Obviously, these kids were not even though they also made it to college and had something good for them they ruined it with stupidity.   Now Tyler Clementi’s roommate who is also 18 and -another Rutgers student, Molly Wei are being charged with two counts of invasion of privacy and I am pretty sure they are being kicked out of school also.  So at the end of the day when you sit and think about what bullying has caused you can see it is nothing good.  As we can see there are two college freshman in serious trouble and another one who unfortunately is not here with us because of somebody else’s ignorance.  This story is very sad but true; hopefully people realize that bullying is wrong and should not be allowed anywhere or under any circumstances.

  1. I read this story on the internet and was extremely upset about what happend. Those two teenagers are basically reponsible for Tyler's death. What they did was horrible on so many levels and they should be punished severely for what they did. Privacy is a right and when you violate it, it can have very bad consequences. Tyler obviously did not want to be exposed in such a terrible fashion. Their disrespect for his privacy led to his ultimate demise and that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Gold Bless him...

  2. i definitely agree with you..it is totally wrong to bullied someone for their appearance or for the way they act. just accept people for who they are and worry about yourself...that person might just be happy with his life so why ruin it.
